Harvey Weinstein's Wife Georgina Chapman: "I Have Chosen to Leave My Husband" (UPDATED)

The designer released a statement in light of the troubling allegations.

UPDATE (Oct. 11, 2017, 12:47pm) Harvey Weinstein speaks out, issuing his own response to Georgina's statement:

"Over the last week, there has been a lot of pain for my family that I take responsibility for. I sat down with my wife Georgina, who I love more than anything, and we discussed what was best for our family," he explained in the statement. "We discussed the possibility of a separation and I encouraged her to do what was in her heart. In the end, she made the decision to separate."

"I understand, I love her and I love our children and hopefully, when I am better, I will be in their lives again," he concluded. "I support her decision, I am in counseling and perhaps, when I am better, we can rebuild."

Last week, The New York Times released a shocking exposé  on Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. The piece outed Weinstein for several instances of sexual harassment — and in the days that have followed, more and more women have come forward.

On Tuesday, Gwyneth Paltrow disclosed that she, too, had been harassed by the former Weinstein Company exec. Paltrow was just 22 years old when Weinstein made jarring advances toward her in a hotel room. And though she was berated into keeping the incident mum for decades, she's had enough: “We’re at a point in time when women need to send a clear message that this is over," the Goop mogul said. “This way of treating women ends now."

Paltrow is not the only one who's come to the end of her rope. Georgina Chapman, Weinstein's wife, also released a statement on Tuesday. And though the Marchesa designer was said to be standing by her husband's side mere days ago, the jig is up.

Chapman's statement to People read: "My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions. I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time.”

Weinstein and Chapman wed in 2007, and have since had two children together: India Pearl is seven, and Dashiell Max Robert is just four.
