Kelly Rowland Talks About Life After the Terrible Twos

Titan Jewell Weatherspoon turns three in November.

Kelly Rowland’s son Titan Jewell Weatherspoon (with manager husband Tim Weatherspoon) will turn 3 years old next month and exit the toddler stage of childhood, which will usher in a new level of business for the singer.

Now that he’s a little man in the making, Kelly is moving ahead with lots of new projects, including working on her fifth solo album and a concert tour in Australia, where she’s going to be returning as a judge on the country’s version of The Voice. She’s also invested in a lash subscription company called Elora Lane, is working on a children’s clothing line and recently partnered with Band-Aid Brand and the STICK WITH IT campaign to share the message that when you believe in yourself enough to jump, great things can happen.

As if those things weren't enough to keep her busy, earlier this year, she released the book Whoa, Baby!: A Guide for New Moms Who Feel Overwhelmed and Freaked Out (and Wonder What the #*$& Just Happened), which talks expecting mothers through the final stretch of birth and dives into questions that many moms experience, but might be embarrassed to talk about out loud. Sample chapter titles include “Will I Ever Be Able to Go #2 Again?” and “So Now We’re Both Wearing Diapers?”

“What inspired me to write Whoa, Baby was the fact that there is no book out there like it,” she tells Personal Space. “There were all these books about the baby. There was no book about moms and what happens to her physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. New moms go through quite a lot after having their baby.”

Now that she’s had a few years of motherhood under her belt, she says that the hardest part of motherhood is watching him grow up.

“My favorite part about motherhood is watching the world through their eyes,” she says. “It’s the best feeling ever. Hardest part is watching them grow up. He’s getting bigger, he’s no longer my baby.”
